The research brief was undertaken by an experienced team of Noongar researchers based at Murdoch University within the Australian Indigenous Studies Program, Kulbardi Centre and the Centre for Social and Community Research. The team worked closely with Noongar individuals, families and communities in the Avon River Basin.
Key culturally significant sites related to the natural resources of the area was undertaken through a comprehensive literature review, search of the Registry of sites (DIA) and through interviews with key Noongar participants.
